On Mac OS Lion. I changed that string to the number of the newest Skype version which is 8.44.0.40, it DIDN'T work.
it's work but only sending text message….it doesn't support sending files (like a image, photo or zipped files…)…any idea?

okay so i deleted skype on my computer so that i could try to get a updated version on my 10.7.5 Mac, but now the new download is totally void with a circle and line through it so this trick does not work now, my old skype version is totally deleted so i cant do this trick, -what to do now?
