Converting devices to USB Type-C

USB Type C is great! …unless you have to use dongles anyway. Let’s fix that! Also, with Blinkist, the first 100 of you to go to are going to get a 7-day trial and 25% off full membership if you decide to go with them. Sweet! Parts list below:

USB C connector board (Amazon)

USB C connector board (eBay)

Soldering iron kit (Amazon)

  1. Hi everyone! Hope you enjoy the video. Here's a link to the USB C breakout boards on Amazon:

  2. Really funny… Nr. 1 — Completely superfluous as it provides minus 20% of size against plus 200% of ugliness. Nr. 2 is really cool though (due to the space in the housing). General advice: Buy a computer instead of a laptop — it costs less and is disassemblable. ^^

  3. USB naming is strange…
Universal Serial Bus not serial from 3.0, but no difference for people – but we got a lil trap with renaming – after releasing 3.1 they (USB-IF) rename 3.0 to 3.1 Gen 1 and 3.1 to 3.1 to 3.1 Gen 2
"USB 3.1 Gen 1" and "USB 3.1" – 5Gb/s and 10Gb/s with almost same name

But 20Gb/s is coming… and USB-IF rename it again

    5Gb/s – 3.0 (3.1 Gen 1) rename to 3.2 gen 1

    10Gb/s – 3.1 (3.1 Gen 2) rename to 3.2 gen 2

    new 20Gb/s – name USB 3.2 Gen 2×2

  4. USB-C is terrible
One connector…. with a lot of different (amd sometimes incompatibles) connection inside with few realisation + 5 voltages variant by 2 ( IRL 3 with QC and risk of fry your nintendo) standarts and 5A in tiny connector

  5. hey can sb help me please.
I have an super cheap USB microscope And cut the cable in half. There are 6 cables: one red and black for power, the green and white one for normal usb data, and one yellow and blue.

Is this for 3.0 because the microscope needs no data in ?

  6. The device/female part of the USB Type C in not that great. Especially on a phone for instance, when you often have to plug/unplug it.
It's more fragile and doesn't last as long as previous USB version.

  7. Can you help us convert an HDMI cable to USB 3.0 as my laptop only has one HDMI port but I want to connect another HDMI canble for more extension monitor. Or maybe can you make a DIY laptop hub for multi monitor display via USB 3.0

  8. Hi Sir, I
searching days and actually I do really not find as in your presentation but vice versa an OTA USB A 3.0 male to Type -c female adapter. Reason: I will use an USB C hub with USB ports and included HDMI port connected, in case the adapter exists to the "OTA USB A 3.0 male to Type -c female adapter." I will then be able to use the USB C hub on the Apple lightning USB 3 Camera adapter. Meaning, I will be able to use the field monitor, USB microphone etc on the iPhone SE 2020. Thanks for your attention.

  10. Please, can you make videos about solar panel.
    You did a thermocouple before.
Am very excited to see your solar system. I like your craftsmanship and how you use technology

  11. Late to the party, but if you were going to show making a webcam – if you managed to figure out how to take a smartphone camera module & convert that to a webcam you would be a god amongst mortals!

  12. Hey awesome video Ive been trying to convert or rather make an SD card reader what components would I need for this a USB C male, an SD card reader and and what kind of transistor or anything else ?

  13. usb c for transfer big data (long video) is better, but i think it is better use for super fast charging.
usb can get 40w charge and wireless is max 15w.
And for new device it will have 55w and 27w wireless charge.
i use fast wifi to sync my video to nas.
so use usb adapter to connect anything useless.

  14. Can you please make a video of converting your USB 2.0 to 3.0. As my Cooler master SF-17 only comes with USB 2.0 and my some of my peripherals will not function. Thanks of the Video
